The Thornton Adjustable Positioner (TAP®) is an adjustable mandibular advancement appliance.  It can be adjusted by the patient, doctor, or in a sleep lab. This appliance can be used to treat snoring or cases of severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It can be constructed with a bar on the lower to allow lateral movement (see picture) or with a socket to restrict lateral movement.
